Design your backgrounds
Get the size, layout and finishing touches right.
Use a portrait canvas
Prepare your design at 1200 × 1800 pixels, a 2:3 portrait ratio. All built-in layouts share this outside canvas. PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP images are supported; keep each file below 20 MB.
Leave space for the photos
Backgrounds sit underneath the photo slots. Place important text and artwork outside those areas. A background is not an overlay that can cover the photos.
Upload and preview
Go to Settings → Backgrounds → My Backgrounds to import an image and choose compatible layouts. Check each layout in the preview. Apply it to a session separately.
Keep the design aligned
Start with background zoom at 1.0 and check the session’s photo spacing. Different image ratios crop to fill the canvas. Always preview the finished composition.
Update provided backgrounds
When a provided collection is configured in your app build, open Provided Backgrounds and choose Check for Updates while online. Designs already saved into sessions stay unchanged until you select a new background and save.
